Abstract
Ketorolac tromethamine, a new nonsteroidal antiinflammatory analgesic, was evaluated for
relative efficacy in a randomized, parallel, double blind trial. The 60 patients received single
intramuscular dose of either Ketorolac 30mg or tramadol 100mg.
Pain was assessed before drug administration, and then 2 and 6 hours
after drug injection. Pain was assessed using verbal and visual analog scales. Ketorolac was rated significantly better than tramadol.
There were no serious side effects reported. This study shows Ketorolac to be a safe and effective analgesic for relief of postoperative pain.
